2005 Oak Savanna Cellars Pinot Noir
Vineyard: La Encantada Vineyard, Sta. Rita Hills
"We looked west for this vintage of the Oak Savanna Pinot Noir, and secured some grapes from the La Encantada Vineyard in the Sta. Rita Hills appellation. The results are nothing short of stunning. The wine is quite dark for Pinot Noir (as expected from Sta. Rita Hills) with aromas and flavors of blackberries, tar, rose petals, cola, and toasty oak. Production was quite limited so grab some of this before it is gone." - Andrew Murray, Winemaker

2005 Oak Savanna Chardonnay
Vineyard: 100% Estate Grown Chardonnay Oak Savanna
"This is a wine that truly expresses the unique terroir of Oak Savanna rather than the simply tasting like the barrel producer¹s ego. The wine is full of pear, green apple, and a hint of citrus and mineral notes with a richness that is balanced by the natural acidity resulting from the cool growing conditions. Malolactic was encouraged on only a portion of the wine, which gives the wine a creamy and rich and yeasty mouthfeel without the overtly ³buttery² aromas of most Chardonnays. The wine is thus a perfect blend of new world winemaking, giving the lushness and fruit, and old world winemaking, yielding pedigree and refinement. As hinted at above, we chose to use a mix of new and once and twice filled French Oak barrels to allow the greatness of the vineyard shine through rather than simply letting the wine hide behind such an oaky fortress as is typical with Chardonnay." - Andrew Murray, Winemaker

2004 Oak Savanna One Thousand Hills
A Proprietary Red Blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Franc
This is the 2nd, and very limited, vintage of this proprietary blend, whose name conjures up images of the native terrain of the Oak Savanna Vineyard. It is made up of 60% Syrah, 20% Grenache, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The wine is as unique as the place from which it comes. It is very fruit-forward for such a young wine, with aromas and flavors of black cherry, blueberry, and cassis. It is complexed with spicy notes that include black pepper, tar and toasy oak. The wine has been ageing in the bottle in our cellar for the better part of a year and it is drinking beautifully.
